WHAT INFIRMATION OS THERE THE POPULATING OF THE REGION?
― New stone-era sttlements have been discovered in the region. In the village territory there exists a cave called «Vrtoi boon», which was an ancient populated settelement according to the popular beliefs.
Some five hundrend meters far from Ddmashen in the sand-pits metal arms, instruments have been disqovered, which are dated to the 3rd-2rd milenium. The remains are preserved, in the ethnographical museum of Sevan.
A plaqe of intermet was discoverd, in the temitiry of the settlement. In the plot called «Averakner» the remains of the cyclopean fort are preserved which are dated to the 3rd millenium B. C. In th same territoriu the traces of later built houses are also preserved, that is why the losality was colled «Averakner».
On the Sout-Eastem edge of Ddmashen on the west bank of the river Hrazdan the remains of the ancient fort are preserved, which occupy 1,5 hectares of territory. The South-Eastem stonewalles are proserved. The walls are arranged by unworked stones. In the territory of the fort there are places of graves and a villige. They belong to the 2nd millenium B. C.

— According to the inscription in Ltjahsen left by Argishti I, the region of Ddmashen hasn`t been included into the 5 countries of Urartoo administrative division of Gegharkoonik region.
THE REGION OF THE SETTLEMENT DURING THE FOUNDATION OF ARMENIAN STATE AND DURING LATER CETURIES UP TO THE FALL OF ARSHAKOONI DYASTY
― According to the evidence of Movses Khorenatsi, beginning from the 6th century of Armenia`s statehood, the mentioned territory belonged to the Varajoonik satrap tribe. The Varajoonik province was bordering from the South to Mazaz, from the West to Nigg, from the North to Tashir of Googark and Medskrenk of Artsakh provinces. According to today`s understending it included the area beginning from Tzaghkadzor to the North of Krasnoselsk, as well as the area from the upper course of river Agstev up to Dilijan.
The provincc Varajoonik is known as royal hunting plaqe.
